Department of Community Medicine
Mission:
“Delivering comprehensive health care services at the community level Holistic Training of undergraduates and postgraduates in community health, endorsing and conducting research in the areas of public health importance”.
Goals:
- To develop and maintain peripheral health centers catering to the evolving health needs of the communities, while conducting various outreach activities with a focus on health promotion and prevention.
- To establish association and extend support to various governmental and non-governmental organizations in delivering high-quality health care services to the communities.
- To be at the forefront of striving for excellence in training, in the field of community health, by rapidly adopting the highest standards of practice and newer initiatives in medical education.
- To instill interest in research among students, by making accessible, relevant resources and tools.

Rural Health Centre (RHC): Outpatient services, Inpatient services and implementation of National and State Government Health Programmes

- 24-hour medical services (OP and IP)
- 100 – 110 outpatients per day
- ANC – Monday and Friday
- immunization day – Wednesday and Saturday
- NCD and Geriatric OP – Thursday
Urban Health Centre (UHC): Outpatient services and implementation of National and State Government Health Programmes

Clinical Case Assessment – Bedside teaching at:
- Gandhi hospital, Secunderabad
- Government Fever Hospital, New Nallakunta, Hyderabad
Field visits for exposure to speciality care:
- Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Mehdipatnam
- Government General and Chest Hospital, Hyderabad
- Sivananda Rehabilitation Home for Leprosy, T.B and HIV/AIDS, Kukatpally
- Government Mental Health Centre, Erragadda
